We are part of Citizens Advice, which provides training, information and other essential support services to its network of 700 Bureaux in England and Wales. The first Citizens Advice Bureaux in the country were set up originally to give advice and information on all the issues brought about by World War II, like questions on ration books, missing persons, housing problems, etc. They were the official searcher service in the event of bombs falling in their areas. Today this Bureau deals with thousands of clients every year on a range of subjects too diverse to list. However, the main query areas are benefits, debt, employment and housing. Our bureau is staffed by a team of fully-trained volunteer advisers backed up by a dedicated support staff.
