FELIXSTOWE CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU |
WelcomeWho we are Felixstowe and District Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity. We are part of Citizens Advice, which provides training, information and other essential support services to its network of 700 Bureaux in England and Wales. The first Citizens Advice Bureaux in the country were set up originally to give advice and information on all the issues brought about by World War II, like questions on ration books, missing persons, housing problems, etc. They were the official searcher service in the event of bombs falling in their areas. Today this Bureau deals with thousands of clients every year on a range of subjects too diverse to list. However, the main query areas are benefits, debt, employment and housing. Our bureau is staffed by a team of fully-trained volunteer advisers backed up by a dedicated support staff.
The Bureau's opening times are here. If you would like to see whether any of the CAB online information can help you before contacting us, please follow this link to our AdviceGuide. Felixstowe Citizens Advice Bureau will give practical advice and help throughout Big Energy Week (16-21 January 2012) to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to. CAB Manager Barbara Rose said: "More and more people are coming to us for advice on how to spend less on their fuel bills. Through Big Energy Week we want to tell people that help is at hand and that there are things they can do to cut their fuel bills." Felixstowe Citizens Advice Bureau is urging people to speak to their energy supplier to check that they're getting the best deal and are on the cheapest payment method - and to save energy by insulating your home - most energy companies are offering free and/or discounted insulation. You could save more by switching energy suppliers and an accredited switching website can help you do this. Plus it's important to check that you are getting all of the benefits and tax credits that you're entitled to - as you could be missing out on money that could make pay it easier to pay your fuel bill. You can pick up a leaflet with tips and advice on cutting your fuel bills at Felixstowe Citizens Advice Bureau.
